Every Christian in every church is responsible to not only evangelize their community but also the entire world. Considering the cost, the limitations, and the fact that God has not called everyone into the Gospel ministry or to the mission field, this is a formidable task. How does one in Kalispell, Montana, for example, take the Gospel to someone in Argentina or Israel?
At Victory Baptist Church we approach the challenge of reaching the world with Gospel through Faith Promise. Faith Promise not only elevates the church’s responsibility to the Great Commission, but it also fosters a more direct and personal connection between church members and missions. As its name suggests, Faith Promise mission giving is based on a faith commitment. In addition to regular tithes and offerings, each church member is challenged during our annual spring missions conference to exercise faith in making a weekly, monthly, or annual commitment to the church’s missions program for the upcoming mission's year. The church increases its missionary commitments for the next year based on these anonymous commitments. This is not a pledge to the church, but rather it is a commitment to Christ and world missions. The money given is only used to support and partner with like-minded missionaries and missions programs which are approved and voted on by VBC members. Between 2019 and 2020 our Faith Promise offering increased by almost 150% allowing us to almost double the number of missionaries we partner with and support.
